Description:
Plextor ConvertX PX-M402U is a real-time hardware digital video converter and editing device for Windows-based personal computers. This easy to use device, with USB 2.0 interface, captures video from a wide range of sources - such as camcorders, DVD players, VCRs and television - and automatically converts the analogue video into a digital format for editing, authoring and recording on to media. With support for a variety of MPEG video/audio compression standards, including the latest MPEG-4 technology, the ConvertX PX-M402U is easily the most flexible and versatile product in the video converter market. Additionally, Plextor's ConvertX PX-M402U supports hardware DivX encoding, converting video to in DivX real time while the video is captured to the computer's hard disk. This can save hours of time for users compared to converting video to DivX after capture using a software encoding program. As the first product of its kind to support MPEG-1, MPEG-2, and MPEG-4 encoding, the ConvertX PX-M402U provides users with several options for long-term storage of video. For example, MPEG-1 could be used to record one hour of video on a VCD, while MPEG-2 could be used to record up to two hours of high-quality video on a single DVD. MPEG-4 could be utilized to create highly compressed video archives to save space on a hard disk drive. Users can now store 2 hours of high-quality video on a standard CD or 10 hours on a DVD.The ConvertX PX-M402U also allows users to edit MPEG-4 and DivX video content, making it faster and easier for users to cut unwanted scenes and add titles, transitions and special effects. Other useful features include DVD VR and Edit-on-Disc, allowing users to capture and burn video directly to writable DVD discs and then edit the content right off the disc itself. Users can edit the interactive menus, change backgrounds and add or delete video from the disc.
